On behalf of the Jordan & Kyra Memorial Foundation, we’d like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support of the 18th annual Jordan & Kyra Memorial Golf Tournament on Friday, October 7 at Seascape Golf Club.

Thanks to your generosity and the outpouring of donations, time and effort from so many dedicated individuals and organizations, we were successful in raising more than $167,000 for pediatric brain tumor research and family care as a result of the tournament, silent auction, sponsorships, and fundraising conducted by American Golf Foundation Ambassadors at American Golf operated courses nationwide.   In particular, we’d like to thank the tournament’s Premiere Sponsors: Coastal Paving, Touchstone Golf, and Wasserman Foundation.

Highlights of this year’s tournament included the participation of our resident celebrity, 7 year-old Max Page–a.k.a. Darth Vader from the famous VW Super Bowl commercial–and his brother, Els, who presented a special check for $3,007 to the Foundation by collecting donations in lieu of birthday gifts.  Max then auctioned off an autographed Darth Vader helmet, and raised an additional $1,000 for the Foundation.  Other highlights included the presentation of the Di Ann Lo Vardi Unsung Hero Award to the much deserving San Diego Regional Ambassador Captain, Dick Walter, as well as special recognition of AGF Ambassador Lulu Green from Lake Tahoe Golf Course who spearheaded the efforts in raising over $20,000 at her home course this year.

We are indebted for your support, which is crucial in our efforts to generate the significant resources necessary to fund the cutting-edge research currently being conducted by Dr. Mark Israel, MD at Dartmouth University’s Norton-Cotton Cancer Center, which is aimed at eradicating pediatric brain tumors as a life-threatening illness.  Funding also supports Family House, a non-profit residence for the families of children undergoing treatment for cancer at UCSF Medical Center.
